CD 206 Couture-Manteau

Dans ce cours, les étudiants apprendront à créer un manteau en utilisant l'une des trois méthodes de couture: traditionnelle, fusible et machine à coudre. Dans la première partie du cours, les étudiants apprendront à choisir le patron de couture et le tissu pour faire un manteau (le tissu, les fibres, la couleur, le poids du tissu, la texture et le tissage). Les élèves apprendront ensuite à choisir le type d'entoilage (tissé, non tissé, tricoté et tricot chaîne). De plus, les élèves apprendront à sélectionner le tissu, le patron de couture et la technique de confection du manteau. De plus, ils apprendront à choisir la doublure et les notions telles que les épaulettes, les boutons, les tissus pour réaliser les poches, les rubans de maintien et les têtes d'épaules.

Dans la deuxième partie, les élèves apprendront à ajuster le patron de couture d'un manteau et à faire un modèle pour s'assurer que le manteau ira bien. Ensuite, ils apprendront à dessiner le patron de couture pour les parties du manteau qui ont besoin d'un entoilage et à dessiner les parties du patron de couture pour la doublure.

Dans la troisième partie du cours, les étudiants apprendront à créer le manteau en plaçant une doublure de support dans le manteau. En fonction du tissu et de l’isolation requise, ils apprendront à ajouter une laine d’agneau ou un « chamois » au manteau, à construire le col et à former le devant du manteau. De plus, ils apprendront à former le dos du manteau, le col cranté, à préparer le col et le parement.

Une fois qu'ils auront fini de préparer toutes les parties du manteau, ils apprendront à coudre le col, à réduire les coutures et à repasser le col. De plus, ils apprendront à coudre les poches appliquées et à faire les poches passepoilées.

Ensuite, la création des manches et ici, les étudiants apprendront à coudre les manches avec un ruban biais, à coudre la tête de la manche et à fixer les épaulettes. Ensuite, ils apprendront à faire l'ourlet du manteau, le coin à onglet et l'aérateur de la manche.

Enfin, il y a la touche finale et dans cette partie, les étudiants apprendront à coudre la doublure, l'ourlet du manteau et de la doublure ainsi que l'ourlet des manches et termineront en faisant la surpiqûre, en cousant les boutons et en faisant les boutonnières.

CD 206 Sewing - Coat

In this course students will learn how to create a coat using one of the three methods of tailoring: traditional, fusible and sewing machine). In the first part of the course students will learn to choose the sewing pattern and the fabric to make a coat (basing a decision on the type of fabric: the fibers, the color, the weight, the texture and the weave). Students will then learn to choose the type of inner lining (woven, non-woven, knit and warp knit). Therefore, students will learn to select the fabric, the pattern and the technique for tailoring the coat. In addition, they will also learn how to choose the items needed for completion such as the shoulder pads, the buttons, the fabric to make the pockets, the support ribbons and the heads of shoulders.

In the second part students will learn to adjust the sewing pattern and make a model to ensure that the coat will fit well. Then they will draw the pattern for the parts of the coat that need to get a stabilizer and to draw the parts of the pattern for the lining.

In the third part of the course, students will learn to create the coat by placing a support lining in the coat. Depending on the fabric and the required insulation they will learn how to add a lamb’s wool or a “chamois” to the coat as well as build the collar and form the front of the coat. Additionally, they will learn how to form the back of the coat, the notch collar, to prepare the collar and the facing.

Once they have finished preparing all the parts of the coat, they will learn how to sew the collar, reduce the seams and press the collar. Further, they will learn to sew applied pockets and make the piped pockets.

Next is the creation of the sleeves and here students will learn how to sew the sleeves with a bias tape, sew the head of the sleeve and attach the shoulder pads. Then they learn how to make the hem of the coat, the miter corner, and the sleeve aerator.

Finally, there are the finishing touches and in this part students will learn how to sew the lining, the hem of the coat and the lining as well as the hem of the sleeves and finish up by doing the topstitching, making the buttonholes and sewing the buttons.
