CS 203 Couture — tricots

Dans ce cours, l'étudiant apprend les catégories de tissus tricotés, comment prendre les mesures, sélectionner le patron pour faire un vêtement à partir d'un tissu tricoté. L’étudiant apprend également l’aisance négative et positive selon le style et le mouvement, à ajuster le patron pour un tissu de tricot. Nous passons par la suite à la préparation du tricot, l’épinglage et au taillage du tissu tricot, ainsi que le marquage des crans et des points tailleurs. Maintenant, il est temps d'apprendre à choisir les aiguilles et le fils pour coudre le tissu de tricot, puis d’apprendre à faire les points de points de couture sur une machine à coudre régulière pour coudre les tissus de tricots. Dans ce cours, vous apprendrez également à utiliser un Surjeteuse et une machine Overlock. Finalement, l'étudiant apprend des techniques de finition du cou, de manches et d'ourlet d’un vêtement fait de tissu extensible. Il est aussi important d’apprendre à choisir l'entoilage, à stabiliser les tricots, à repasser les tricots et à faire les surpiqûres

CS 203 Sewing – knits

In this course the student will learn the categories of the knit fabrics, how to take measurements, to select a pattern for a knit fabric (the negative and positive ease for the style and the movement); and adjust the sewing pattern for a knit garment. The student then moves to the preparation of the knit fabric, to place the pattern on the knit fabric, pin and cut the knit fabric, mark the notches and the tailor tacks. Next students will learn to choose the correct needles and threads for sewing a knit fabric and then learn the stitches on a regular sewing machine which is used to sew a knit fabrics.

In this course students will also learn to operate a Serger and an Overlock machine. Through this course the student learns different techniques of finishing of the neck, sleeves, and hem of a garment made of knit fabric. The student will also learn how to choose the interfacing for a knit fabric, to stabilize the knit fabrics, to iron knit fabrics, and to make the topstitches.
