Deleting Data

The app uses the usual "swipe left to delete" in the list views for Fabrics, Patterns, Projects, Ideas and Blogs. You have to confirm deletions, as they are not recoverable once deleted.

To delete Companies, Fabric Types,  Notions etc. you need to visit the relevant list screen. For example to delete a Notion item, visit "Notion" from the front screen, then 'swipe left' the items to delete in the list there.

Tapping items will navigate to a detail view.

Deleted data will be removed from both iCloud and the device, and is not retrievable, so think carefully before you confirm a  "delete"!

One exception is that Photos saved to your Photos Library are never deleted by the app.  The app never has permission to delete from your Photos library. It can only save there , and then only with your permission. However, photos stored in the app alone (including in iCloud) will be deleted when their respective "owners" (fabrics/patterns/projects) are deleted. So if you want your photos to be completely safe from loss, select the "Save Photos to PhotoLibrary" option in the app Settings page. The default setting for this is OFF.  You have been warned !

When deleting tags you need to be aware that the tag will be deleted across ALL fabrics, patterns, projects and ideas. So think carefully before deleting any tags! Tags will self- delete if they are no longer used in any fabric/pattern/project/idea - they can only exists when attached to something. Thus if you remove a tag (uncheck it) from (say) a pattern, and that tag is not used in any other place in the app, then it will disappear from the list of available tags for selection when you next want to select a tag. You will have to create it afresh as a new tag in this circumstance, if you decide you want to re-use it.
