We were very happy to welcome lots of students and visitors to the Manchester University Student Union building to find out all about diabetes on World Diabetes Day 2019. World Diabetes Day celebrates the birthday of Frederick Banting, a Canadian medical scientist who was instrumental in the purification of insulin and its use in diabetes. Many thanks to our wonderful team of volunteers who helped make the event lots of fun for everyone!
Dr Cosgrove and a team of volunteers brought the Sugar Games to local the local community during the University of Manchester Community Festival. It was so busy that Dr Cosgrove didn't get time to take many photos! People of all ages were shocked about how much sugar is in common foods and drinks that we consume and wanted to find out more about how to prevent type 2 diabetes.
