Pamper your pancreas

'Pamper your pancreas' was created from acrylic, digital print and mixed media. The sculpture celebrates the pancreas - the organ at the centre of diabetes.

The pancreas is situated in the centre of the abdomen. A healthy pancreas regulates our blood sugar (glucose) levels by producing insulin. Insulin allows glucose to enter our cells and help fuel our bodies. If we treat our pancreas well, with a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise, it will be happy and keep you happy. If we abuse our pancreas, it won't produce enough insulin and our blood sugar levels will rise. This will lead to diabetes and other serious medical conditions.
