Kuraby station opened in 1885 as Spring Creek. It was renamed Kuraby in 1889. On 3 November 1984, the line was electrified from Roma Street to Kingston. In 1998, a third platform was constructed to allow Gold Coast line services overtake Beenleigh line services. In 2008, the station was upgraded as part of the Salisbury to Kuraby triplication project which included a new footbridge and lifts.
Kuraby station was named after the homonymous suburb of Kuraby which was named after the local aboriginal word meaning ‘a place of many springs’.
Kuraby station itself has three platforms consisting of a side platform and an island platform. Platform 1 is for outbound services, platform 3 is for inbound services and platform 2 is for additional peak services.
Kuraby station has three station entrances. Two are from the Jacob Lane carpark and one is from Beenleigh Road.
Kuraby station does have disability access.
There is a bus stop nearby on Beenleigh line serving nearby suburbs. The route that serves Kuraby is route 554.
