Coorparoo station opened in 1888, at the same time as the line. The line was duplicated on 17 June 1912 through the station from Park Road to Murarrie. The line was electrified through the station on 15 October 1983. On 15 July 1996, the Fishermans Island line opened to the north of the station
Coorparoo station serves the homonymous suburb of Coorparoo which comes from the local Yuggera indigenous tribe’s word ‘Koolpurrum’ referring to either mosquitoes or the sound made by the dove.
Coorparoo station has two platforms consisting of an island platform. Platform 1 is used for outbound services and platform 2 is used for inbound services.
Coorparoo station only has one entrance from the level crossing on Cavendish Road.
Coorparoo does have disability access however assistance is required due to the level crossing.
There are bus stops nearby on Cavendish Road serving nearby suburbs. The routes that serve Cooparoo are routes 184, 185 and N184.
