I visited Bethania station on 25 February 2018.
Bethania is located on the Beenleigh Line and is served by all train services travelling from Beenleigh to Bowen Hills with many continuing to Ferny Grove. Bethania is located 34.4 km from Roma Street and the approximate travel time is 56 minutes.
Bethania is situated in zone 3 meaning the fares between Bethania and Roma Street are:
Bethania station opened in July 1885. In May 1888, the station was renamed Bethania Junction as it was the junction station of the Beenleigh Line and the former Beaudesert Line and it was renamed Bethania in 1943. Refreshment rooms opened at the station in 1908 and closed in 1964. On 3 November 1984, the line was electrified from Kingston to Beenleigh. On 21 April 1992, a third platform opened as part of the duplication of the line.
Bethania serves the homonymous suburb of Bethania. It is believed that it was named after ‘Bethany’, a biblical village in Israel.
Bethania station itself has three platforms consisting of a side platform and an island platform. Platform 1 is for outbound services, platform 2 is for inbound services and only very few morning peak services depart from platform 3.
Bethania station has two station entrances from Holzheimer Road and the carpark on Station Road.
Bethania station does have disability access however assistance is required due to the level crossing.
There is a bus stop outside the station in the carpark on Station Road serving nearby suburbs. The route that serves Bethania is route 563.
