This study aims to analyze the distribution of different types of industries in Senegal using synthetic data. The analysis includes the geographical distribution of industries, the types of products produced, and insights into the most produced, most needed, most imported, and potentially installable products in the country. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, investors, and business owners to understand the current industrial landscape and identify opportunities for future growth and development.
Senegal, a West African nation, has a diverse economy with various industries contributing to its GDP. Understanding the distribution of these industries and the types of products they produce is crucial for strategic planning and economic development. This study uses synthetic data to simulate the industrial landscape of Senegal, providing a comprehensive analysis of the distribution of industries and products. The insights gained from this analysis can help in making informed decisions for future investments and policy-making.
Due to the unavailability of real-world data, synthetic data was generated to simulate the distribution of different types of industries in Senegal. The dataset includes attributes such as business name, industry type, location (city), number of employees, annual revenue, and type of products. The synthetic data was generated using the datallm package, ensuring a realistic representation of the industrial landscape.
The dataset contains 1000 entries with no missing values. The number of employees ranges from 0 to 50,000, and the annual revenue ranges from -3 to approximately 400 million USD. The dataset includes various industry types such as Retail, Hospitality, Construction, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Transportation, Finance, Education, Agriculture, and IT.
The analysis revealed that the Retail industry is the most prevalent in Senegal, followed by Hospitality and Construction. Other industries such as Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Transportation also have a notable presence.

The geographical distribution analysis showed that Dakar is the hub for most industries, with a significant concentration of businesses. Other cities like Thies, Saint-Louis, and Kaolack also have a diverse range of industries.
