Register for June 22-24: Voices Made Visible - Creating Space for Our Stories in New Harmony
“Retreat is not an absence; rather it is the search for a true presence.”
Georges Gusdorf
There are many benefits to intentionally taking time to unwind in a quiet, safe space. Especially in the lightning-fast speed of our modern world, it is vital to our health and well-being to slow down and acquaint ourselves with the natural rhythm of our bodies, minds and spirits, silencing the noise, seeking stillness and welcoming the peace and strength we need for this beautiful life journey. Some of the benefits include:
Disconnect from the rigors of a busy lifestyle and escape from tiresome routines that have lost their meaning.
Focus on yourself. It has been said many times in recent years, but self-care is not selfish. To successfully do our work and enjoy our play, we all need time to focus on ourselves.
Relax in solitude that is hard to come by in our normal lives. Find stillness in proximity to nature and its healing touch. Being immersed in the natural world - fresh air, calm surroundings, plants and animals - allows you to unwind and refresh.
Contemplate issues that are usually put on the back burner; reflect on recent experiences; gain perspective on a current life situation, or simply to spend quality time with yourself to rest.
Do the things you might not usually have time for: expressing your creativity through art, music, writing, reading, journaling, exploring nature, meditating, even just napping.
Connect with others. Because our retreats attract like-minded people, you may discover a new support system of people who may act as a mirror to help you realize that you are not alone.
Save money. Retreats are economical because they are pre-planned and include exclusive features in addition to all the facilities of a simple vacation.
At Seeking Sabbath Retreats, all aspects of retreats—including location, accommodation, food, facilities, and activities—are all in line with what you are seeking to achieve. You don't have to worry about things like scheduling, reservations, commutes, waiting in lines, finding locations, etc. All of the arrangements have been made for you so that you can focus solely on your own well-being and truly experience a stress free retreat.
Some have asked why we have chosen the name Seeking Sabbath. I believe that all who embrace the opportunity for retreat are seekers, those attempting to find something…and that something is Sabbath. While the word Sabbath has roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition, the idea of Sabbath is universal: an abstinence from work in order to rest and enjoy.
At Seeking Sabbath Retreats we offer you this experience of retreat. If you feel weary, overworked, as if there is never enough time for the internal things you need; if you feel numbed or overly emotional, a retreat is a wonderful solution to address your needs. We hope that you can join us for an upcoming retreat.
