INSIGHTFUL HEART
INSIGHTFUL HEART
An open letter to the people that made the four walls of the classroom memorable,
While our time seems to be just a tick of the hand in the clock, your impact on this journey made a huge part. I learned, not just about the things inside the classroom but also the heart of being a teacher. I came in Thailand thinking that I will just learn about the pedagogies and acquire some methods to be an effective educator in line of my field. However, as I sit here reflecting on the fruitful days that I spent around Udonpitayanukoon, it was also my heart that learned something. I learned that happiness do not only equate to delivering effectively the lesson for that day, but seeing the smile of my students as they interact with me. I learned that being a teacher also means being a friend, too. I learned that fulfillment means still being contented after a long day even if it is tiring. I learned that teaching is not just a "job" but a lifetime commitment.
These lessons are all thanks to the people that were with me and helped me to finish the program. A million thank you to all the people that were behind me as I walk along this once in a lifetime opportunity. I had a memorable practice teaching that I will forever carry as I become a professional teacher. Wherein, I ought to be an educator with an insightful heart.
