Hot Spot for Warblers & Sparrows
Located in the northwest corner of Pierce County at the mouth of the Kinnickinnic River, the park provides habitat for migratory birds, breeding birds, and wintering species. A hotspot for warblers, the park has many paths with excellent views over treetops. Notable warbler species, which also breed here, include Prothonotary, Blue-winged, and the occasional Louisiana Waterthrush. Up to fourteen species of sparrows can be seen during migration, including Clay-colored, Henslow’s, LeConte’s, Grasshopper, and Field Sparrow.
