About SCROCCS

SCROCCS was started by Hao Nguyen and an associated team of graduate students (see 2022 cohort for original grad student team) at the University of Washington to promote opportunities of summer research in chemistry labs for community college students. 

Hao Nguyen and co. have since published a paper titled "A Summer Research Program for Community College Students Led by Graduate Students at the University of Washington" in the Journal of Chemical Education on the foundational concepts of starting a SCROCCS program and how graduate students at other universities can establish a program of their own: read the paper here (pdf).
