Emalyth was a student at Green River College. During summer 2025, she worked with her PhD student mentor Lucy to study the mechanism of Ring Opening Metathesis Polymerization under different conditions.
Emalyth reflected on the summer program and was appreciative of the opportunity to learn many different synthetic and instrumentation techniques. She was excited that this would give her a leg up on future research opportunities and graduate school.
Neal was a student at Pierce College. During summer 2025, he worked with his PhD student mentors Leah and Jayden on a metagenomics screening to identify gut microbial genes involved in ASD-related metabolite biosynthesis.
He reflected on the summer program and said he felt more prepared to transfer to UW after the summer program.
