Academic work eligible for grade reappraisal includes:
scholarly papers
a video recording
Tests and examination.
Oral or group presentations are not eligible.
Non-academic grounds (such as illness or misfortune) are not relevant grounds for grade reappraisals.
Students may, with sufficient academic grounds, request that their grades be reappraised.
Students are expected first to contact the course faculty to discuss the grade received and to request their work to be reviewed within five business days of receiving the evaluation. If applicable, the course faculty may re-evaluate the student’s work and make the appropriate grade change.
If, after meeting with the course faculty, the issue is unresolved, the student may request a grade reappraisal by emailing the relevant Academic Program Coordinator to request a grade reappraisal within 3 business days of receiving an answer from the faculty.
Process for Requesting a Grade Reappraisal for Final Grades:
Email Grade Reappraisal Request including the rationale for the request, to the Academic Chair within five business days of the release of the final grade to the student centre. Please note that
The email needs to include:
The original academic work with all comments and feedback from the faculty.
A blind (name and student number removed), unmarked copy of the paper to be evaluated.
Information about the assignment including marking guidelines or rubric.
Note: A request for a grade reappraisal may result in the original grade being raised, lowered or confirmed.
The Academic Chair informs the student and course faculty of the result of the reappraisal via email within 10 business days of receiving all materials listed here.
