You'll find card and board games, bluetooth music and TV casting capabilities, and plenty of comfortable seating. (The Child asked why we didn't have the reclining sofa at home since it's more comfortable than "that crappy blue thing" we actually have in Toronto. So... you're welcome.)
Extra chairs for the extendible dining room table are stored downstairs, if you need them.
The kitchen is fully stocked, since we basically replicated our kitchen at home (yes, including the Metamucil, because digestive health is very important). Whatever you need, it's probably there, and if it isn't, let us know and we'll put it there. There is service for 12 and just about anything you might think you need to cook a healthy (or just tasty) meal. A Keurig coffee maker means that everyone gets what they want and no one has to bicker about dark roast vs blonde or tea vs coffee, but if you want the fights, there is also a normal coffee maker in the cabinet. The well water is very drinkable but for the high maintenance people among us who prefer filtered, we have a hot-and-cold-water dispenser, too (downstairs - just plug it in!). In full disclosure, despite Quebec being the top sales market for Pepsi products, we do tend to be a Coke and Diet Coke household. So, if you prefer Pepsi, you're gonna need to bring it yourself. Because... ew. (No offense.) There is an additional beverage fridge on the lower level where you can keep wine, beer, and other beverages and snacks. Help yourselves to anything that's there - we just ask that you replace whatever you use, especially if you run out.
Yes, you've got it right. That glass does say "don't drop the potato" in French. It's a Quebecois (originally Cajun) expression that means "don't give up." Obviously, right? Look at all of the super fun things you can learn here!
The chalet is also fully stocked with wood - real and eco-burn wood logs - to keep things toasty in the winter. The wood stove looks small but it packs a punch; it can heat the whole house once it's up and running.
It's so fancy, we can hardly stand it.
The main floor washroom, updated at the end of 2022, features cabinetry made of recovered lumber, a new floor, and a raw stone vessel sink.
