EW, COVID.
Let's start with the obvious: COVID sucks.
Now that we are all grounded in that fact, let's talk COVID from a practical perspective, and what it means for your visit to our dear chalet.
If you live in Canada, barring another provincial pissing contest like the one between Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba in which each closed its border to the other except for essential travel, you can come to Quebec without any limitations. If you live in the US or anywhere else, you'll want to keep an eye on border restrictions for your trip into Canada. As of October 1, 2022, all restrictions to enter Canada have been lifted (and the US has long since decided COVID is over, so...), but keep an eye on things, just in case. You never know what Justin is going to do.
As of September 2022, la belle province has lifted almost all of its COVID restrictions. The only place you will be required to wear a mask is in a healthcare provider's facility, which we really hope you won't need to visit (see "Exterior" re: the cliff and our bear).
More specifically to the chalet, please remember that this is our house, not a hotel with a full housekeeping staff. The chalet will be clean when you arrive (we hope), but look... I can't promise that it will have undergone a complete sanitization with bleach, UV light (internal or external), Ivermectin, Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, or any other super-special-and-potentially-sketchy substance to ensure that every last germ is gone. If you have tested positive for COVID in the days leading up to your visit, are suffering any hallmark symptoms of COVID, or have recently been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID, we recommend that you please delay your trip, take care of yourself, and make sure to get better. You can always visit us another time.
