Sometimes we just need a break from it all. Some time to watch the snow fall in a moment of grace and silence. A moment to sit in front of a fireplace and sip a cup of cocoa... maybe with a little something added to give it a bit of extra kick. A day or two without your phone fixed firmly in front of your face, to give your growing dowager's hump a chance to smooth out. Some time to get out into nature and pretend you could survive for more than five minutes in the forest if you had to. (You can't. Trust me on this.) Maybe you just need to spend some time in Canada's France (not to be confused with France's France in Canada, which is Saint Pierre et Miquelon), surrounded by buffalo check decor and mainlining maple syrup. (You do you, fam.)
And sometimes you want to do that in a house owned by people you trust instead of random strangers with questionable taste and sketchy motivations.
I mean, look... our taste is most definitely questionable and our motivations are SUPER sketchy. But at least you know us, right? That has to count for something.
So what are you waiting for?
That probably describes what you're thinking right about now. You're looking at this site and wondering, "What the hell kind of VRBO-wannabe marketing site is this? These people are never going to rent their house out to nameless, faceless strangers (who may or may not be bots - #doyourownresearch!) like this. None of it makes any sense!" And you would be correct!
Look, if you're here, it's probably because you're one of our close and trusted friends or family members, or you are the close and trusted friends of one of our close and trusted friends or family members. So... welcome! Nice to meet you! Unless we already know you, in which case... 'Sup?
Here's the deal. This house - this chalet, because it's in Quebec and Quebec is the fanciest part of Canada because they speak French and that's classy and don't you ever let anyone tell you otherwise - is our family home. We didn't buy it as an investment property; we bought it because we wanted a place where we could go and hang out from time to time. And we didn't want a bunch of random strangers vomiting in our kitchen sink or rappelling down the escarpment, even if it would pay the mortgage and insurance on this place.
But!
We also know that we won't use it all the time (because if we did, it would just be our regular house, and then it would be less fun), so rather than just let it sit there, empty and sad, why not open the door to our friends and family? Why not share with all of you the opportunity to have the same positive experiences we have when we are there - access to nature, time together, a chance to speak terrible French to overworked staff at a restaurant who really just want you to point to the thing on the menu without butchering their lovely language, the opportunity to get away from our day to day lives without completely disconnecting like a luddite because, well, #life and #someoneneedstopayforthisplace?
So take a look around. If you'd like to visit, let us know. And if not, no worries!
