Terms of Service

Satnami Shaadi is a matrimonial and matchmaking service for adults. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. Please read them.

1. Eligibility

• You must be 18 years of age or older. This is a strict requirement with no exceptions.

• You must provide a date of birth. Until you do, you cannot use any matchmaking feature — you will not be able to swipe, match, send messages, post, or comment.

• A date of birth showing you are under 18 means you cannot use the service. If we find that an account belongs to a minor, we terminate it and remove its content.

• You must be legally free to marry under the law that applies to you.

• You must use the service for yourself, and hold only one account.

2. Your account

• Sign-in is by phone number, verified with a one-time password through Google Firebase. Keep access to that number secure.

• You are responsible for what is done through your account.

• Give accurate information. Misstating your age, marital status, or identity is a breach of these terms.

3. Conduct

Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. In summary:

• Be respectful in chats, on profiles, and in posts.

• Do not impersonate anyone or upload misleading photographs.

• Spam, harassment, and hate speech are not allowed.

• Do not request or send money, or promote investment schemes.

• Do not demand or offer dowry. It is a criminal offence in India.

• No nudity or sexually explicit content.

4. Child safety

Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited absolutely. This includes child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual communication involving a minor, sexual extortion, child trafficking, child marriage, and sexualised depictions of minors, including artificial ones. We remove such content and accounts, and we report to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it. Our full standards are at Child Safety Standards.

5. Content you provide

• You keep ownership of your photographs and text. You give us permission to host and display them within the service so that it can function.

• Only upload photographs you have the right to use.

• You can delete individual photographs from your profile at any time.

• We may remove content that breaks these terms or our guidelines.

6. Reporting, blocking, and enforcement

• Every profile, chat, post, and photograph can be reported from the ⋮ menu, and any member can be blocked.

• Blocking takes effect immediately in both directions.

• Depending on what we find, we may remove content, hide a profile, suspend an account, or terminate it.

• A suspended account can still sign in and be deleted, but cannot message, post, or match.

• We keep a record of reports, including after an account is deleted, so that repeat behaviour can be identified.

7. No guarantee of a match

We help you find and contact people. We do not promise that you will find a partner, and we do not verify the accuracy of what other members say about themselves. Use your judgement, meet in public places, and tell someone you trust where you are going.

8. Ending your account

• You can delete your account at any time from Biodata → Delete account. This removes your profile, photographs, posts, matches, and messages.

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or behave abusively toward other members.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
