Community Guidelines

Satnami Shaadi exists to help adults find a life partner. These guidelines apply to everything you put on the service: your biodata, your photographs, your posts and comments, and your private messages.

Who may use Satnami Shaadi

• You must be 18 or over. There are no exceptions, and we verify a date of birth before you can use any matchmaking feature.

• You must use the service for yourself. Creating a profile for someone else without their knowledge and consent is not allowed.

• One person, one account.

Be who you say you are

• Use your real name and your own recent photographs.

• Do not use another person's photographs, or images of a public figure.

• Do not misstate your age, marital status, or other biodata.

• Do not present yourself as a minor.

Not allowed

Anything involving minors

Child sexual abuse material, child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, sexual communication involving a minor, sextortion, child trafficking, child marriage, and sexualised depictions of minors are prohibited absolutely and are reported to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.

Sexual content

• No nudity, sexually explicit photographs, or pornographic material.

• No unsolicited sexual messages or images.

• No offering or soliciting sexual services.

Harassment and abuse

• No threats, intimidation, or incitement to violence.

• No hate speech or attacks based on caste, religion, ethnicity, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.

• No continuing to contact someone who has asked you to stop. Use Block if someone will not leave you alone.

• No sharing another person's private information, photographs, or messages without their consent.

Fraud and money

• No romance scams, investment or loan schemes, or requests for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency.

• No links to phishing sites, malware, or external paid services.

• No spam, bulk messaging, or advertising.

Illegal activity

• No dowry demands. Demanding or offering dowry is a criminal offence in India under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, and accounts doing so are removed.

• No sale of weapons, drugs, or other regulated goods.

• Nothing else that is unlawful where you are.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, chat, post, and individual photograph has a ⋮ menu with:

• Report — choose a reason. Child safety concerns are the first option and are reviewed as a priority. You can report a specific photo or post rather than the whole account when a single item is the problem.

• Block — stops contact in both directions immediately. The person you block cannot see your profile, appear in your matches, or message you, and you will not see them. You can review and undo your blocks under Biodata → Blocked users.

What happens when guidelines are broken

• Content removed
  A photo, post, comment, or message breaks a guideline.

• Profile hidden
  A profile needs correcting before it is shown again.

• Account suspended
  Repeated or serious breaches. A suspended member can still sign in and delete their account, but cannot message, post, or match.

• Account terminated
  Severe breaches, and anything involving a minor, fraud, or threats. Content is removed with it.

• Reported to authorities
  Apparent child sexual abuse or exploitation, credible threats of violence, and other conduct we are required to report.

We keep a record of reports and of the actions taken on them, including after an account is deleted, so that repeat behaviour can be identified.
