Satnami Shaadi is a matrimonial and matchmaking service, operated by IITiansFunda, for adults aged 18 and over. Children and minors are not permitted to create an account or to use any part of the service, and we do not knowingly provide the service to anyone under 18.

This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how anyone can report a concern to us, what we do when we receive one, and who to contact. It is published publicly and is readable without signing in.

Prohibited absolutely

The following are prohibited on Satnami Shaadi without exception, and we act on every credible report of them:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video, or other depiction of the sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of a minor.

• Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form.

• Grooming — building a relationship with a minor, or with someone believed to be a minor, in order to sexually abuse or exploit them.

• Sexual communication with or about a minor, including sexualised messages, requests for sexual images, and sexual descriptions.

• Sexual extortion (sextortion) — threatening to publish intimate images of a person, including a minor, to coerce them.

• Child trafficking and any attempt to advertise, arrange, solicit, or facilitate the sale, exploitation, or trafficking of a minor.

• Child marriage — using the service to seek, arrange, or facilitate a marriage involving anyone under 18.

• Sexualisation of minors, including depictions that are drawn, animated, computer-generated, or produced by artificial intelligence.

• Impersonating a minor, or presenting yourself as a minor.

• Any attempt to use the service to make contact with a minor for any of the purposes above.

These prohibitions apply to profiles, photographs, videos, biodata text, private messages, posts, comments, and every other part of the service.

Keeping minors off the service

• Registration states plainly that the service is for people aged 18 and over.

• Every member must give a date of birth before they can use any matchmaking feature. Until they do, they cannot swipe, match, send messages, post, or comment.

• A date of birth indicating the person is under 18 is refused, and the account cannot proceed.

• This is enforced on our servers, not only in the app, so it cannot be bypassed by modifying the application.

• If we determine that an account belongs to someone under 18, we terminate it and remove its content.

Reporting a child safety concern

Anyone can report a concern, whether or not they are a member, and whether or not they are the person affected.

Inside the app

Every profile, chat, post, and individual photo has a ⋮ menu with Report. Choosing “Child safety concern (CSAE)” — the first option in the list — marks the report as urgent so it is reviewed ahead of ordinary reports. There is also a separate “Underage user (under 18)” option for reporting someone who appears to be a minor.

The same menu offers Block, which stops all contact in both directions immediately: a blocked person can no longer see your profile, appear in your matches, or send you messages.

This address is monitored for reports of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and for enforcement notices from Google and from law enforcement. Please include, if you can: what you saw, where you saw it, and any profile name, phone number, or screenshot that identifies the account.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In India you can also reach Childline on 1098 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in.

What we do with a report

1. Triage. Child safety reports are marked urgent when they are filed and are placed ahead of the ordinary moderation queue.

2. Review. A moderator reviews the report and the account, content, or message it concerns.

3. Action. Depending on what we find, we remove the content, remove the photograph, delete the post or message, suspend the account, or terminate the account permanently and remove its data.

4. Preservation. Reports are retained as a record, including after an account is deleted, so that a pattern of behaviour can be seen and so that we can respond to a lawful request.

5. Escalation. Where we identify apparent child sexual abuse material or conduct constituting child sexual abuse or exploitation, we report it to the appropriate authorities and preserve the relevant records for them, as required by applicable law.

We do not require a report to be proven before we act. Where a child's safety may be involved we will remove content or restrict an account while we look into it.

Legal compliance

We comply with applicable laws on child protection and on the reporting of child sexual abuse material in the jurisdictions where we operate, including India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement and preserve records where we are required to do so.

Our commitments

• We publish these standards publicly and keep them current.

• We maintain in-app reporting and blocking, and a dedicated child safety contact address.

• We review reports of child sexual abuse and exploitation as a priority.

• We remove violating content and accounts.

• We escalate to the authorities where the law requires it.

• We keep the service restricted to adults.
