At the beginning of the year for Advisory I had students create a Google slide(s) describing themselves including their interests and information about their family. I then made a compilation of the slides and had each student present about themselves
It’s important to engage students as stakeholders in their own education. I openly take constructive feedback from my students and try to engage in a n open dialogue with them about how I could better serve them as a teacher.
In my classroom I honor my students' cultural backgrounds by creating a shared sense of community based on love and mutual respect. Our Network values of integrity, respect, responsibility, empathy, and excellence are regularly practiced and students in my class who are recognized for embodying these values at monthly assemblies
Developed strategic groupings in order to provide differentiated instruction for Language Arts

Group behavior rewards when students are collectively showing on target behavior they are given a digital reward. When the class hits the target amount of icons there is a class “party” that kids are really excited for utilizing Positive Behavior Reinforcement strategies
My Google Slides have a running agenda with a predictable format starting with the Agenda and Announcements.
