I am an organized chaos sort of learner. A stack of papers to mark, textbooks to read, and a movie playing in the background. As a visual learner, and I do my best work when it’s in front of me, and something happening in the background. I need noise in the background, and will usually have a movie or TV series running as I work. It helps to have noise and confusion around me which lends itself well to an often-busy classroom.
One of the assignments we had was a challenge to take a risk in the classroom by applying some new learning we had gained from our look into innovative programs thought the course. I tackled Artful Thinking and have seen a lot of positive feedback and engagement with it.
The final project was to create a mash-up of, or our own innovative curriculum design. I used a sort of combination of Artful Thinking, Maker Ed, and Reading Like a Historian. Additionally I created the video as a sample piece of what could be produced in this instance, creating a visual timeline.
