Village of Smiles
Story/Questline
No
This NPC offers the player an item in trade for the Bag of Earth.
There are four possible items, but only one may be claimed per game cycle.
Which item the player receives is dependent on the player's dialogue choices.
When the player speaks with the NPC for the first time:
^ Hoy, traveler. Well met.
^ Call me Fern. I've been hiding out here for... some time.
^ Seen any trinkets? I lost a small pouch of earth.
If the player answers "No":
^ Shame...
If the player answers "Yes":
^ It's... it's the one!
^ The soil... it's all I have now.
^ Now, a question for you.
^ Are you looking for peace?
If the player answers "Yes" to "Are you looking for peace?":
^ Looking for peace? That's great! Great, great.
^ Now... have you found it?
If the player answers "Yes":
^ Hoy, yes. It must be a wonderful thing to seek peace, and then find it.
^ I, myself, dream of finding peace.
^ Here, have this.
^ (Player receives the Sunset Kite Shield)
If the player answers "No":
^ Yes. That's the condition I, too, suffer: seeking peace and never finding it.
^ Here, try these on. They were his.
^ (Player receives the White Armor Set)
If the player answers "No" to "Are you looking for peace?":
^ Not peace... no, not very good. Not good.
^ So you're looking for war.
^ Have you found it?
If the player answers "Yes":
^ Yes. If war was what you wanted, you'll have found it here.
^ Warfighter. Swordswinger. Manstabber.
^ Here's something that might help your mission.
^ (Player receieves the Outlaw Greataxe)
If the player answers "No":
^ Looking for war but finding none? Hoy, how bizarre.
^ Maybe a greater challenge is what your heart desires.
^ Maybe this will help.
^ (Player receives the Eviscerator)
When the player speaks with the NPC after stating they have found peace:
^ Hoy, traveler.
^ Hold on to that peace within you.
When the player speaks with the NPC after stating they haven't found peace:
^ Hoy, traveler.
^ A man like me will never find peace. But it's nice to dream.
When the player speaks with the NPC after stating they have found war:
^ Hoy, traveler.
^ You must be enjoying your struggles.
When the player speaks with the NPC after stating they haven't found war:
^ Hoy, traveler.
^ You'll find your war soon enough.
If a summoned player speaks to the NPC:
^ You're in search of something, aren't you?
^ Aren't we all...
