Great Oxidation Event

The difference in redox potential in chlorophyll and bacteriochlorophyll is the cause of the difference between oxygenic and anoxygenic photosynthesis.

 We are investigating the type of chlorophyll at the time of the Great Oxidation Event. We would like to find direct evidence of whether oxygen-evolving photosynthesis was the cause of the Great Oxidation Event.
