Leaf by Niggle was a performance based on a short story by J. R. R. Tolkien. the performance is happening in an art museum and audience come in to watch the paintings and a performer as a museum guide is explaining about the paintings and their artist for them. But suddenly they are in front of a little frame of an unknown artist who the guide does not have much to say about it. another performer who came in the room as audience start to ask questions about the painter and this is when Viewers see a flashback to Niggle’s studio. In this inter active performance audience have roles in every scene. They invite to sit on chairs in the center of the room by the guide and their role changes from spectators in a museum to the jury in a court. In another scene they are Niggles Intrusive guests who are invited to drink tea and in the other one they are just trees in a garden… The performance is performing in 4 sites around the audience and they have to turn around to see a different scene. There are 2 performers and a very small puppet which is coming out of the main performer cloths and go inside her pocket again. The formal concept of the performance was Persian painting and colors, shapes, compositions and even the installation of performance is inspired by specials elements in Persian paintings. I was the director, performer, puppet and scene designer and also play the harmonica in this performance.
