Bonaventure Island, accessed by a 90-minute tourist boat (35,00) or 10-minute direct boat (25,00), is a Quebec Provincial Park that is home to 100,000+ nesting Gannets. It's a must see. There's a
GeoPark in Perce with a fee-based zip line and a glass floored observation deck out over a cliff. They also have 15 km of trails for free use...get a nice trail map at the GeoPark visitor center in Perce. There's paid parking outside the GeoPark visitor center, although the first 30 minutes are free...if you're quick, you can also run into the nearby grocery and pay 3-month-long-tourist-season prices for food staples. The town itself has a lot of souvenir boutiques, plus restaurants and bars. It's mostly tourist fare at Michelin prices, although the local
microbrasserie is worth a visit, at least for the quality brews. This is the most crowded, touristy town in all the Gaspé Peninsula, but the vibe is energetic and there's always live music somewhere in town. A privately-run bus linking the area CGs to downtown comes through the CG about twice per hour (free fare, but driver tips appreciated), which is convenient considering parking is about $10,00 per day in Perce (although there is a free municipal lot near the police station on the north end of town. Come to think of it, we saw a lot of RVs drycamping near this lot for free as well).
