The journey, beginning at the U.S-Canada border just south of Montreal and ending in Calais, Maine, is a bit over 1,200 miles (see the route map below). It encompasses camping, hiking, and other touring activities in 3 major cities (Montreal, Quebec City, Saint John), 3 National Parks (Forillon, Kouchibouguac, Fundy), and several Provincial Parks in Quebec (including Bic, Gaspésie, L'Îse Bonaventure, Miguasha) and New Brunswick (including Sugarloaf, New River Beach).
