RENO-SPARKS INDIAN COLONY POLICE DEPARTMENT
The goal of the RSIC Police Outreach program is to create a partnership with the community members and citizens through collaborative programs, as well as work with service providers and other agencies to reduce crime rates, protect police officers, and to protect the community.
The mission of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Public Safety Cadet Program is to offer young native minors and adults, ages 14-20 years of age, who are interested in a career in public safety, a personal awareness of the criminal justice system, fire science, and emergency services through training, hands-on experience and other related activities. The program is held in conjunction and partnership with the RSIC Fire Department, Search and Rescue, and Emergency Management. For any questions, Please contact Officer Angelo Hafalla at (775)-785-8776.
The primary goal of Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Police Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) is to teach effective peer resistance and refusal skills so that adolescents can say “NO” to drugs, alcohol, and violence and their friends who may want them to participate. The DARE program is held in the Summer Youth Program in partnership with the RSIC Recreation Center. For any questions, Please contact Officer Angelo Hafalla (775)-785-8776
The main goal of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Police Department Senior Safety Awareness is to prevent and reduce the opportunities from senior victimization of crimes such as theft, exploitation, abuse, and violence through comprehensive educational awareness programs and reducing their fears of criminal victimization. The program is held year-round on a monthly visit in partnership with the RSIC Senior Center. For any questions, Please contact Officer Angelo Hafalla at (775)-785-8776
