ADMINISTRATION
The goal of the department administration is to maintain control and operation of the agency, and the subsequent discharge of policies that keep the peace, increase public safety, and prevent crime. It is the command staff of the department that involves setting agency policy and making operational decisions that best achieve the aforementioned goals without violating the law or the public trust.

The duties of the Chief Of Police involves managing the departmental operating budget, establishes an ongoing strategic plan for the department, as well as ensuring staff development and stewardship. The Criminal Investigator is an Officer who gather facts and collect evidence related to on-going criminal cases. SERGEANT
The duties of the Police Sergeants are to act as the first-line supervisor who plans, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of the Patrol Officers. A Sergeant coordinates section activities, participates in police operations, and performs related work as required.

The function of the Rangers is to provide law enforcement protection, conservation, and management of the Reno- Sparks Indian Colony parks, natural areas, cultural sites, and wildlife. Our Rangers patrol protected areas, monitor wildlife, prevent poaching, engage local communities in conservation, help communities resolve human-wildlife conflicts, and assist in tourism.
POLICE SUPPORT STAFF
The function of the Police Support Staff is to provide a variety of support services to the daily functions of the police department in the areas of law enforcement records management, records and report dissimination, front desk clergy, evidence and property management, administering and managing the data terminal, and serving link between the Chief Of Police and the community.
POLICE SUPPORT OFFICER
The Police Support Officer performs clerical and administrative tasks designed to ensure the smooth operation of police functions. The primary tasks includes developing and implementing effective office procedures, responding to public inquiries, maintaining law enforcement records, and serving as a link between the chief of police and other law enforcement officers.

The Terminal Agency Coordinator or (TAC) is responsible for monitoring system use, enforcing system discipline, and assuring the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS), and the Nevada Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (NLETS) operating procedures are followed by the agency and those agencies for whom they are responsible for (non-terminal agencies).

IN CASES OF EMERGENCY, PLEASE DIAL 911.
We must stress the importance of calling 911. A 911 dispatcher will send an officer to the address of the emergency; they will also ask questions to assist the officer prior to arrival. The dispatcher may also contact other services that are needed such as medical assistance, fire assistance, or additional police personnel.

The police administrative office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
