Elder Gong demonstrates that when we are rooted in our "covenant belonging" with Jesus Christ, we naturally reach out to others to ensure that no one—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—is left to sit alone. 

Elder S. Mark Palmer uses the metaphor of a fallen willow tree to teach that even if one’s testimony is reduced to "the slimmest of roots," they can reach back to the Saviour’s open arms for healing and a joyful return to their spiritual home. 

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf teaches that we must keep our testimony rooted in the core foundation of Jesus Christ and His Atonement so that the "branches" of our faith—our actions, service, and understanding—can successfully reach upward and bear the fruit of the Spirit.
