IES Madrid Study Abroad Program

After their semester in Buenos Aires, Romeo started their last semester of their undergraduate career in Madrid, Spain while studying at IES Madrid and the Universidad Complutense Madrid. They lived in the Pacifico barrio of Madrid, Spain with their host family, Maria Luisa and her daughter Marisa, and their housemate, Chris Duyos. While studying in Madrid, Romeo traveled along the Ruta Carlos V, went bar-hopping through Caceres for their 23rd birthday, spent a weekend on the beach in San Sabasatian, and toured the Jewish barrios of Segovia and Toledo. In March 2020, Romeo's study abroad program in Madrid was suspended and all students were forced to return to their home universities to complete their courses. Unfortunately, they still had trips planned for London, Italy, Portugal, and Morrocos which they hope to one day return to make!
