Google My Business is not just a business listing on Google Maps and on Google Search engines but it acts as a social media platform as well. You can set up your My Google Business profiles to set up messaging and answer your clients questions, follow up on business reviews, post updates, links, products, photos and video. Like many other social media platforms you can even manage and create Google AdWords advertisements.

It will be the first result you see.
Click the Manage Now button.
If you’re not already signed into a Google account, it will ask you to sign in.
*Be sure you are signed into the Google account you want to be associated with your Google business listing.

Setting the name of your business is important. If you are an agent just your name is fine. If you are a broker/owner make sure you include the name of your brokerage and DBA.
Make sure you include the address of your brokerage if you are an agent. If you are a broker/owner make sure you include the address where you are located so people can find your office on the map when typing in your name for their GPS.

Setting Your Location as a Brick & Mortar Business
If you’re a brick and mortar business you’ll need to set your business location on a map. You may have to drag the marker to the exact location on the map that your business exists. Simply place your marker where it should go on the map and then press the “Next” button again.
Set Service Area:
This option you can list what parts of the area you service. If you only service the state of NJ then you will type that and enter it. If you only service Hudson County than you will use that only. This will help you target a specific demographic by area.
Categorize your business:
Find the appropriate category that describes your business best in the drop down menu.
Set what contact details to show your customers:
Please add your website URL provided by ROG. Copy and paste the whole URL address from your browser.
*Stay consistent with the URL address and how it is copied and pasted with other business listings as well.

Finish and Verify Your Business:
Next, you’ll have to verify your business and that may take a couple of days. You can optimize your listing in the meantime though.
Google may give you a different option to verify your business but for most business owners, you’ll have to wait for a postcard to be mailed to you from Google with a verification code on it.
Once your postcard arrives you’ll need to sign back into google.com/mybusiness, click Verify Location from the menu or the Verify Now button if it’s available, then enter the 5 digit code from your postcard.
