The United American Democracy of The United Steaks is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by President Alexander Steakson with an even hand, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape, enslaved workforce, and spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 3.402 billion Steaksians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The tiny, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Neo-New York Megacity. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.1%.

The thriving Steaksian economy, worth 285 trillion United Steaks Dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Uranium Mining. Average income is 83,874 United Steaks Dollars, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 445,333 per year while the poor average 8,345, a ratio of 53.4 to 1.

President Alexander Steakson has taken to wearing medal-adorned military uniform in all public appearances, sheep-like political loyalists repeat the mantra "one wheel bad, three wheels good", families are only permitted to have one child, and napalm is the tool of choice for disabling eco-unfriendly forestry operations. Crime is moderate. The United Steaks's national animal is the Steaksian Bald Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is Greater Steaksian Capitalism.
