One of the attractions of the Portuguese city remains, without contest, the "Portuguese cistern". The latter was used as a backdrop in several commercials and films, the oldest of which was "Othello" by Orsen Wells released in 1949 and which won the Palme d'Or in 1952 at Cannes, in France, in the name of Morocco.
