Unique souvenirs await you at our refuge: key rings, magnets, postcards, necklaces and bracelets so that you can take home a beautiful memento of your visit.
Here you will also find a selection of books that you can purchase on site and learn more about Monte Piana and Monte Piano. Below are the authors and their books with short descriptions.
We have known her for a long time, and she has spent just as much, if not more, time among the many mountains of the Dolomites. Antonella lives in Cadore and, as a biologist, has always combined her work with her great passion for the mountains. This combination has allowed her to study the environment in which she lives and to publish several books dedicated to our area. Over the years, she has received numerous awards, including being the first woman to join the “Caprioli” Rock Climbers' Group in San Vito di Cadore. For further information, we recommend taking a look at her website.

Giovanni reworked a manuscript by his father, Agostino Luigi Zucco, written in memory of his brother Gianni, who lost his life in the war. From those pages, Giovanni extracted the most significant parts, creating the current booklet, which ends with a poem by his sister Livia. Giovanni tells us: “I have been to Monte Piana many times, and even today it is sacred to me to make a solitary pilgrimage through that labyrinth of trenches and tunnels, overlooking the slopes of the mountain. I pray to God to grant me a few more years to climb up there... part of me is up there”.
