Day 9
We left beautiful Inverness and made our way along the coast towards St. Andrews. Day 9 was another red-letter day for MG as we spent time watching sheepdogs in action on a Scottish farm. The sheepdogs were amazing, but the puppies and lambs truly stole the show. Plenty of time for cuddling puppies and feeding lambs. An added bonus for MG, she was given hands on instruction on how to shear a sheep by the herdsman, struggling to shear the locks of a large ewe with scissors. MG will never take that wool sweater for granted again! Next stop, a private concert by one of the first female bagpipers and her grandson. MG was all about the woman’s empowerment! Then a stop at Dewar’s distillery to hear the fascinating story of the Dewar’s brand, with a sample of the product! (Sorry MG).
Day 10
As we proceeded to the next town of Dunkeld for some free time of shopping, Seamus made an unscheduled stop at a gorgeous medieval cathedral, St. Columba. Built in the 9th century, it’s gorgeous architecture was breathtaking. This was my favorite cathedral of all the cathedrals we visited on our trip. And to think, it was an “add on” to the trip. I am so glad Seamus took the time to introduce us to this hidden gem.

Loving on the puppies and lambs on the farm
The shepherd's demonstration was a highlight of the trip!
Catching a cat nap on the way to the next adventure! We are beginning to get weary-it's been a long and action-packed trip!
