Three brave hearts in scotland

Grandma, Aunt Jennifer and MG's Scottish Adventure

First stop: a pre-tour visit to Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town

As seen in one of the lovely bookstores of Scotland

We began our Scottish travels in the lovely Wigtown, on the Southwestern tip of Scotland. Known for its plethora of cozy bookstores filled to the brim with old and rare books, as well as the occasional garden café, it is a great place to spend a few days! For those who love reading (cough cough, me, Mary) it is heaven. Not only are there over a dozen bookstores, all with different themes and focuses in terms of the books sold there but plenty of lovely locals who are happy to tell you more of the town's history! From a former bank turned into a bookstore, to one focusing simply on books by and about women, there were plenty of nooks and crannies to explore! The views and atmosphere cannot be ignored either- the town is situated facing the Irish sea. There are many paths leading up and down the coast, with plenty of fluffy sheep who look quite similar to small clouds as they spot many of the pictures!
