July Reflection
My end goal is greater engagement with the local Hull arts scene. I moved to Hull after having a very difficult time in a workplace back in 2018. I moved for a learning producing role at Ferens Art gallery and my contract ended a few days before the first lockdown. I was burnt out and needed to rest, I was hoping to start my freelance art career at this point alongside working at the college but due to not having any savings I had to take on a full time maternity contract at Derby museums. After doing an art programme at Humber Street gallery in 2019 I knew I wanted to stay in Hull despite working in Leeds so I returned back to Hull 2021 and I've been trying to be an artist since. I haven't managed to join any openings or private views due to being immunocompromised so being part of a Hull collective is connecting me to where I live.
