The protocols/procedures during recess and lunch remain the same to ensure that students keep their masks on for hallway and restroom use as well as all close-contact games.

Drop off/Pick up protocols from last year remain including masking due to potential congested areas, cohort mixing, and entry/exit from the school building.

Singing/wind instruments may resume outdoors. It is unclear if they may resume indoors with the anticipation that CPHD will clarify this later on.

Though a single stable cohort is not required, cohorts are strongly encouraged to minimize the number of people who are exposed and have to quarantine following a positive case.

Employees may move between cohorts if needed for instruction or supervision.

Keep stable cohorts to all extent possible, including scheduled use of restrooms, recess/lunch/ passing in hallways, etc.

For additional cohorts, prioritize educational supports, extended care, and extracurricular activities.

Faculty/staff meetings may be conducted in person, indoors or outdoors. Masking and ventilation are required when indoors.

Physical distancing is no longer required when inside the classroom for instruction (instead masks and ventilation are prioritized.

There is no capacity limit to the number of students in a classroom. Small group/kidney tables may be used, and desks may be arranged as needed to best support student learning. Collaborative learning should fully resume as part of students' access to multiple, scaffolded learning opportunities.

Snacks/linch should continue to take place outside whenever possible at 6ft distance. If eating inside the classroom is necessary due to weather/air quality, stagger eating times within each room so that 6 ft distance can be maintained between those who have removed their masks to eat.

It is no longer necessary ti provide individually packaged food.

Use of daily health screenings may be determined by local site.

Teachers/Staff should be reminded to remain vigilant for COVID symptoms in students. Students with symptoms should be sent home immediately. following the same protocols as last year.

Employees/parents should be reminded to stay home/keep students at home if any COVID symptoms are present.

Surveillance testing is recommended when case rates rise in community.

Key Implications

Based on our current case rates, the following measures will be required:

• Baseline surveillance testing of all employees prior to students return to campus.

• Monthly surveillance testing to all employees who are unvaccinated or who declined to state vaccination status.

• Additional surveillance testing may be required in the future if case rates rise.

Individual schools may choose to require additional surveillance testing at any time such as:

• More frequent surveillance testing of employees

• Baseline and/or ongoing surveillance testing of students

To prioritize the safe return of all students to campus and in recognition of the rising levels of community transmission, off-site field trips will not be taken at this time. This guideline will be revisited at the end of the fall.

Please note that all off-campus events involving students and held under the school's name fall under the category of a field rip.
