All employees, students, and visitors must be screened prior to entering the school campus each day. This screening should include a questionnaire (as of July 8, 2020, SCC does not require a temperature check). If an employee, student, or visitor answers affirmative to any of the screening questions, he/she may not enter the school building and should leave the campus immediately.A record of daily admittance/non-admittance should be kept on file at the school.
Santa Clara County recommends the Screening Questions outlined in the figure to the left.
Employees
Before or upon entering the school through the main entrance, faculty and staff will access the Daily Parent Square Health Screening Form to answer the screening questions recommended by the county as seen in the red table shown above. Question 1 will be changed to read 10 days instead of 14 days.
If the employee answers yes to any of the screening questions, he or she will have to leave the school unless he or she presents a doctor’s note indicating he or she is approved to work at the school. Our faculty and staff are committed to serve our students and know the importance of being healthy, especially under our present reality.
Staff with any identified COVID-19 symptoms and/or a temperature of 100.0 or higher will be sent home immediately until testing and/or medical evaluation has been conducted.
We will be communicating screening requirements to all our faculty and staff and our administrative assistant will be providing periodic reminders to our faculty and staff throughout the school year.
Visitors
The front door has a camera, microphone, and speaker, allowing us to interact remotely with anyone asking to be let in the school. The administrative assistant will respond from inside asking the person:
the reason of his or her visit,
if the visitor is a parent or a student with an account in Parent Square they will be asked to fill out the Parent Square Health Screening Form using their personal device, just like the employees and will be guided in the same way as employees if any of their answers to the screening questions are “yes”.
All other visitors (without a Parent Square account) will be asked to scan the visitors QR code with their phone and answer the questions in the Google form (which contains the same questions as the Parent Square Health Screening Form). The results of the Google form will inform the administrative assistant if the person has any COVID symptoms to allow or disallow the entrance of the visitor to the school. If allowed to enter, the visitor will be asked to wear a face mask if he or she is not wearing one already.
If the administrative assistant believes the visitor should be let it,
she will open the door after telling the person to stay at the 6 feet marker placed outside
and use the markers inside to keep the six feet distance from her
attend the visitor on his or her requests
escort the visitor out, while keeping the six-feet distancing
Up to two visitors may come into the school at once. We have two chairs appropriately (six feet apart) separated for their use at the entrance hall.
Students
Parents will be answering the health screening questions before arriving to the school via their cell phones with ParentSquare – the option will be given for students to bring a dated paper answering each of the questions and signed by parents for the student to be allowed into the school.
We will not be checking temperature in-person.
As students arrive to the school, one of our four designated staff will check in their iPads the listings of students allowed in to enter the school for the day, check for a written copy of the COVID-19 questions answered fully, or check for a doctor’s notice stating the child should be allowed in the school.
The student will be allowed to enter the school only if:
the name of the student appears on the lists generated by ParentSquare indicating the child does not have any of the COVID-19 symptoms
the parents turn in a copy dated today answering the COVID-19 symptom questions indicating the child does not have any of the symptoms
the parents turn in a doctor’s notice indicating the child has not being infected with COVID- 19, but should be allowed in school.
Otherwise, the child will have to leave the school parking lot with the adult/s who brought him or her and without entering the school at all.
All students who are approved to enter the school through the above procedure must properly wear a face mask covering their nose, mouth and chin upon entering the school and upon leaving the school at the end of the day.
Students with any identified COVID-19 symptoms and/or a temperature of 100.0 or higher will be sent home immediately until testing and/or medical evaluation has been conducted. -]
We will communicate screening requirements to all our families and our administrative assistant will provide periodic reminders throughout the school year.
