Executive Board 

ARTICLE IV: Officers and Their Duties 

SECTION 1 

The officers of this Association shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. 

SECTION 2 

(A) Any member of LEA-Retired in good standing shall be eligible as a candidate for President, Vice President, Secretary, or  Treasurer of the Association.  

(B) An LEA-Retired Pre-retired Subscriber who affirms in writing that he or she will retire effective on the last day of employment  of any given year may announce as a candidate for LEA-Retired officer in the spring elections of that year. SECTION 3 

The President shall call regular and special meetings of the Board of Directors and the general membership, and shall preside at  said meetings. The President shall appoint, with the advice of the Board of Directors, a chairperson of all committees unless  otherwise provided. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee. Current  Standing Committees include Communications, Courtesy, Finance, Fundraisers, Health, Historian, Legislative, Membership,  Program, Publicity, Scholarship and Social. 

SECTION 4 

Standing Committee Chairs shall be ratified by a majority vote of members present at the September general membership meeting  and will have full voting privileges on the Board of Directors. 

SECTION 5 

The Vice President shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President. If the office of President becomes vacant, the Vice  President shall fill that vacancy for the remaining term of office.  

SECTION 6 

The Secretary shall maintain appropriate minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and other meetings as directed by the  President. 

SECTION 7 

The Treasurer shall provide a report at monthly business meetings and shall maintain appropriate records, which will be filed for  financial review.
