This year's event began with a tour of Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation. Attendees heard a presentation about the history of the company and were were then able to walk through the building that produces All-Terrain, Utility, and Personal Watercraft Vehicles as well as Airplane Cargo doors. The building is massive and we got a lot of "steps" in for the day!
Next, we spent some time socializing at "Down the Hatch Bar & Grill". Thanks to everyone that attended and welcomed the 2025 New Retirees.
COME AND GET IT was a success with some 45 teachers, new to LPS, participating. They were able to select supplies for their room as well as bulletin board materials and other activities for their students.
THANK YOU to Sheri Paden for organizing COME AND GET IT! A BIG THANK YOU also to all who set up and/or staffed the event including Diane Lamb, Norma Daberkow, Jeanie Kissler, Jane Nyffeler, Pat Shepard, Cheryl Svoboda, Pat Etherton and friend, Chuck, Rita Bennet and Joe Shandera.

LEA-Retired holds meetings monthly with scheduled speakers from September through May each year. Fundraisers are held periodically to raise money for $1,000 scholarships awarded to future teachers who graduated from LPS. Union Bank partners with us in this endeavor. LEA-Retired is also committed to the retention of current teachers in their first five years of teaching by providing up to four $500 grants yearly. See the "Donations" tab above for an opportunity to help fund these endeavors.
In addition to our meetings, special interest groups provide other opportunities to connect with fellow retired teachers. Those groups include: Travel Club, Book Club, and Meet n' Eat group.
We hope you'll consider becoming a member for the fellowship and continued opportunity to make a difference in others' lives.
