Coding is a set of comands that tell the computer what to do. Mostly, we have buttons with our cursor, but imagine much like we interact with AI today, if you could just tell the computer what to do. Either by typing a command, "write an english paper on this topic highlighting these things in the story" or by using the keyboard and mouse to find resources along with our memory to write our own essay. Telling the computer to do it is easier than you might think! Thirty years ago typing a paper out made it easier for students in school because they coudl type faster than they could write (legibly) so this saved time or gave them more time to develop the topic they were writing about. things are differnt now and ease of writing an essay about a topic just got a whole lot easier. Writing code also just got a whole lot easier. Thank goodness! Let's jump in.
// YOUR APP MUST HAVE THESE THINGS//
something that moves
must have text in it
must have a clear, start over,or reset function
must interact with the mouse and keyboard
Use the p5js or processing tutorials link to the right to make a sketch that meets all the criteria above.
The image above is of the processing coding environment (you will have to download the free app to use it) you can also use the p5.js webeditor if you do not have access to a computer or want to do this assignment on your iPad.
Ethier way the you will use the example code from the site that corresponds to the interface you are using and frankenstein your code together. The example code in the image above sovles almost half of the required criteria for your app. If you need help getting started here is a great video introducing processing. Check out the links to the right for my solutions to specific problems.
Download the Processing app to complete the assignment.
Use this link to look up how different parts of the required for your sketch.
These are links that explore the topic of Coding and software we use more deeply. If you are interested check some of them out.
