USE procreate to make a animations. Export as .gifs
Outline of Projects:
Part 1 (stop motion): Make a 10 frame animation and exporting as a ".gif" so that your animation plays auto-magically.
500 pixels either direction max dimension
20 frames
continuous loop, or ping pong
create .gif that works in the browser (if it does not animate on MyBaylor it does not work)
one class period to complete
Part 2
(rotoscoping): Make a 30+ frame animation of a person dancing, moving falling or some other physical activity. These .gifs could be strung together to create a music video, like the one below.
download a .gif or screen record off youtube
file must be exactly 800 x 480 pixels
must be either looping action or continuous action (ping pong)
must be at least 30 frames
Gifs are large files because they are essentially small movies with no audio. Keep in mind that some sites have a maximum file size that can be uploaded. For example, Twitter has a 2 or 4 MB limit for its gifs. That is actually smaller than most pictures you take with your phone. Gifs are generally low resolution images with limited colors. We will look at how to export gifs for maximum compatibility.
Have Fun! Let's make some animated gifs.
Collage gifs as art and illustration
TYPES of ANImations
Here are two music videos using each of the processes we will cover.
Rotoscoping - drawing on top of film footage
Stop-Motion - moving objects each frame of the movie
