Kateryna is a historian specializing in political humor in Ukraine in the 20th and 21st centuries. She defended her PhD at V. N. Karazin National University, Kharkiv, and published a monograph on Perets' magazine in 2018. From 2016 to 2023, she was an Associate Professor at the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport. She is currently a Research Fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University’s Collaborative Research Center (CRC) for the ‘Cultures of Vigilance’ project supported by The Walter Benjamin Programme, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
