Malcolm Mclaren is often regarded as a ‘birth giver’ to punk through his time as a manager and designer to bands such as the ‘Sex Pistols’ and ‘The New York Dolls’.In 1971, in partnership with Vivienne Westwood, Mclaren opened a clothing store called ‘Let it Rock’ - later rebranded and named ‘Sex’(fig .4) - however, it was reported that Mclaren “...became more interested in rock music as a means to enact his radical aesthetic ideas.”(John M.
