Blood of the Olive Tree, 2024
A hand painted Keffiyeh pattern on a ceramic white plant pot holding up a real olive branches and 5 mini painted canvases. This project is supposed to give reference to the representation of the olive tree often used as a sign for peace, but all over the world people have known anything but that.
About the Artist
My work consists of a diverse range of emotions, experiences, and inspirations drawn from my surroundings and the beauty I observe. Each piece reflects my current state of mind, imaginative thoughts, and random ideas. I strive to create art that conveys meaning without the need for explanation, allowing viewers to interpret it in a way that speaks to their personal experiences. The way I envision and conceptualize a piece can vary greatly from how it is perceived by others, highlighting the unique perspectives we all bring to art.
I explore multiple mediums, with photography being my primary focus. This has naturally led me to experiment with video and short films. Although I have always enjoyed writing, it wasn’t until the lockdown that I discovered my ability to sketch and paint. I often find myself juggling various projects across different forms of expression. Maintaining an ongoing creative project helps to quiet my mind, finding peace in the process.
My inspiration often springs from the places I visit and the people I meet. Traveling opens my eyes to the rich variety of cultures and lifestyles that exist around the world. It’s fascinating to realize how wonderfully diverse we are while also sharing common threads of humanity. Initially, my art was deeply personal, but as I grew more confident, I began to weave the experiences, identities, and cultures of others into my work. My fascination with the stories, backgrounds, and details of those I encounter ignited a passion within me. Many individuals lack a platform for their narratives, and I aspire to use my art to illuminate their stories and identities, offering a voice to those who have so much to share yet no means to do so.
When viewers engage with my art, I want them to feel a mix of wonder and curiosity. I hope my work prompts them to contemplate the themes I present, encouraging them to examine their understanding of various topics. Art is a form of expression, but every piece carries a narrative and deeper significance that deserves exploration. I invite my audience to pause, reflect, and uncover the layers of meaning embedded within my creations.
