Proposed Volunteer Job Descriptions / Practices

Welcome!

If you are interested in cultivating, strengthening and deepening your practice of taking refuge in community, then consider stepping into one of these roles. We have found them to be wonderful bridges to strengthening our connection with each other and with this community.

Time Commitment: Meeting tasks are just for one meeting. Inter-Sangha time commitments are listed with each service.

Meetings

  • Meeting Secretary - Read the script for the meeting, brings practice of wise heart
  • Readers - Read the preamble, 4 Truths, 8 Fold Path and Guiding Principles
  • Meditation Reader - Read the meditation
  • Spiritual Timekeeper - Keep time during sharing portion of meeting. Say "1 Minute" and "Time" at the agreed upon times.
  • Virtual Parking Lot Greeter - Hangout for up to 15 minutes after the closing bell to facilitate the exchange of contact information and to answer questions from newcomers

Inter-Sangha

  • Meeting Moderator - Host, or ensure that meeting is hosted. Attend monthly Inter-Sangha meeting (6 months)
  • Treasurer - Collect, track, disperse and report available funds for the Inter-Sangha (One year)
  • Secretary - Write and keep notes for Intersangha meetings. Maintain phone and email for Inter-sangha (6 Months)
  • Information Technology - Support other volunteers in efforts to maintain online presence (as needed)
  • Inter-Sangha / Regional Representative - Represent Inter-Sangha and Region XII at National Council Meetings (2 years)
  • Meditation Voices - Record meditations that will be shared on Recovery Dharma Online Site. (one time)
