Curator of Red Dot Revolt, Kripa is a stand-up comedian, spoken word poet, creative curator, podcast host and dancer based on Gadigal land. She's pretty much famous but no one knows it yet.
By day she's a News Reporter, but she's loved the stage ever since her vacay in the womb; having grown up dancing Bharanatyam, Bollywood, and competing in national Bhangra competitions.
She translated her love of performing into spoken word poetry in 2016, and her words recently won first place at the Bread and Butter Poetry Slam's launch event. She is feature poet in their February show.
She began her stint in stand-up comedy in 2020, emerging into the Sydney comedy scene slowly but surely. She will be performing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in April 2023, as part of the Australian South Asian Centre's Brown Women Comedy. For tickets, keep an eye out on ASAC's Instagram page.
Her podcast, @unculturedpod, works to platform stories of diverse voices. It has over 10K downloads and almost 5K followers on Instagram, having interviewed names such as Miss Universe Maria Thattil, the Bachelor's Niranga Amarasinghe, internet sensation Neel Kolhatkar, Love Island's Ari Kumar, women's safety advocate Tarang Chawla, actor and comedian Dilruk Jayasinha, content creator Rowi Singh, Masterchef's Depinder Chhibber and more.
When she's not being funny or dancing, Kripa is trying very hard to finish off her law degree before the grey hairs start setting in.
